Insurance is one of the biggest costs of running a fleet, and one of the hardest to predict. Rates continue to climb due to rising repair bills and bigger lawsuit payouts. More commercial auto insurers are responding by making telematics a condition of coverage. For small fleet owners, that can sound like one more requirement. In practice, it's the opposite: better visibility, safer drivers on the road, and a policy priced on how your fleet actually performs.
Linxup and LEEO partnership formed a partnership around this exact shift. Rather than pricing a policy on industry averages, LEEO builds its underwriting around real driving data pulled directly from the vehicles on your policy including: location, behavior, and risk trends pulled directly from the vehicles on your policy. Every LEEO policy requires two things on every insured vehicle: a GPS device and a front-facing camera.
Together, Linxup and LEEO make it easy to get the right gear ordered and installed as part of getting your policy.
What does LEEO require for telematics on my fleet?
LEEO's model is built around faster underwriting, competitive pricing, and rewards for fleets that drive safely — but all of it depends on having active telematics on every insured vehicle. That comes down to two requirements:
-
GPS device that captures active location and driving data
-
Dash cam that records video of the road ahead
Everything else, like scorecards or coaching tools, adds value but isn't required.
How Long Do I Have to Get Telematics Installed for a LEEO Policy?
If you don't have telematics connected when your LEEO policy is bound, you have a 30-day window to get GPS and camera hardware selected, shipped, installed, and activated. Miss that window, and you risk a notice of cancellation.
That 30 days moves faster than it sounds once you break it down:
-
Days 0–5: Select a provider and purchase hardware. This is where the real urgency lives — you effectively have about five days to make this decision before the rest of the timeline gets squeezed.
-
Days 5–8: Hardware ships.
-
Days 8–13: Install and activate.
-
Days 13–30: Cushion for anything that doesn't go according to plan, so a single hiccup doesn't put you past the deadline.
-
Day 30: Notice of Cancellation deadline.
Linxup is also a named referral partner on this path, which means hands-on onboarding is included from day one — not something you have to figure out on your own while the clock is running.
Linxup Is a Named LEEO Approved Provider
Linxup is one of LEEO's named approved providers, which means current Linxup customers can connect the hardware they already have and keep their current workflow.
We built Linxup for small fleets that need to move fast, not spend a week configuring a new system. That's exactly why this partnership works.
We don't take insurance integrations lightly, and we didn't add LEEO to our approved provider list without doing the homework first. Here's why we work with LEEO:
-
They value telematics data the way we do — as a tool for making better decisions, not just checking a compliance box.
-
Their approach considers how fleets actually use that data to improve safety, efficiency, and driver retention, not just how much data gets collected.
-
Their integration connects directly to your existing Linxup data, so there's no extra work, no duplicate hardware, and no separate system to manage on your end.
Where Can I Learn More About How Telematics Affects My Insurance Rate?
Telematics requirements aren't unique to LEEO, and the way carriers use that data to price risk is worth understanding beyond any one policy.
