Every veteran has a story — of service, sacrifice, and the kind of teamwork that doesn't fade when they return to civilian life. This Veterans Day, we're honored to share the journeys of five Linxup team members whose military service continues to shape not just who they are, but who we are as a company.

Representing various branches and military duties, these veterans bring something invaluable to Linxup: they know how to roll up their sleeves and problem-solve in real-world situations. They are committed to structure and discipline, yet remain adaptable under pressure. Most importantly, they understand what it means to work as one team toward a shared mission, whether that's serving their country or serving our customers. Their experience reminds us that  success is built on trust, collaboration, and a dedication to something bigger than ourselves.

Here are their stories:

Ciprian Rusu – Assistant Controller

Ciprian served five and a half years in the U.S. Army Infantry, reaching the rank of Sergeant (E5) and completing two tours in Iraq, serving over a year abroad each time. After transitioning to civilian life, he joined Linxup in 2019, interested in its close-knit culture and collaborative work environment. He most values the shared sense of community — something that reminds him of his experience in the military.

Chris Hamer – Software QA Analyst II

Chris served in the U.S. Army’s Air Defense Artillery branch from 2005 to 2013, beginning with active duty at Fort Bliss and later in South Korea. He then transitioned to the Army Reserve for the remainder of his time.

Chris spent much of his time supporting operations (S-3) and quality assurance — tracking convoys and reviewing reports for senior commanders. That early experience in precision and accountability shaped his career path in software QA. At Linxup, he continues to apply those same skills, ensuring reliability and performance in the products our customers depend on.

“Linxup's culture has been a good fit because it gave me an opportunity to apply some of the skills I learned in the military.”

Stacy Schoene – Office Manager

During her seven years in the U.S. Army, Stacy served as a Transportation Management Coordinator and achieved the rank of Sergeant (E5). She became certified as both an Air Force and Union Pacific Loadmaster and was responsible for load planning military aircraft and rail operations. She was also Combat Lifesaver Certified.

The logistics side of her work drew her naturally to Linxup. After learning the ins and outs of long haul trucking, she became fascinated with tools that help improve daily operations for drivers.

“Learning that Linxup had a solution was fascinating to me. It just felt like kismet!”

Being in the military reinforced the importance of teamwork, for any mission (or job) big or small. By finding a way to work together for a common mission, Stacy honed her ability to lead others and get people to collaborate when they normally would not.

Jarryd Lapp – Software Engineering Manager (Assets & Device Software)

Jarryd served over twelve years in the U.S. Army Reserves (2007 to 2019) as a Cargo Handler (88H) army’s transportation corps. His Inland Cargo Unit was responsible for the complex logistics involved in cargo transportation including tracking assets across military fleets and moving assets across operational zones. Jarryd supported two large multi-national NATO training missions to Poland and Romania and completed a deployment to Afghanistan where he led teams through critical supply chain missions.

Today, Jarryd applies those same leadership, discipline, structure, and adaptability skills to software development. While every task differs, detailed coordination, situational awareness, and adaptability are all vital to his role in software development and engineering management. The emphasis on mission success and collective responsibility mirrors how his team delivers at Linxup: every feature, service, or fix is part of a bigger picture that depends on collaboration and reliability to ensure our customers get a simple yet effective solution they can use.

Jarryd values the strong sense of team over individuals at Linxup, where challenges are approached with a team mindset and success is shared.

“It’s a place where leadership, discipline, and service-oriented thinking aren’t just respected but seen as strengths that help move the team forward. We’re all here to build something great for our customers, and you can feel that energy in every conversation, discussion, and meeting. That energy simply wouldn’t exist without Linxup’s commitment to fostering a healthy and supportive culture.”

Tim Hatfield – Business Development Representative

Tim spent five years in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the USS George H.W. Bush as an Aviation Ordnanceman during the 2017 deployment mission, “Operation Inherent Resolve.” Rising to the rank of E4 within three years, Tim learned the importance of teamwork and attention to detail, qualities that now define his approach in sales. He was drawn to Linxup by its focus on U.S.-based support and the familiar camaraderie and team-first culture that reminded him of his service.

“One team, one fight. Everyone here is always willing to help get the job done.”

At Linxup, we’re grateful to work alongside these veterans who continue to lead by example—through their integrity, discipline, and dedication to teamwork. Their stories remind us that the values learned in service are the same values that drive our success as a company. This Veterans Day and every day, we thank them for their service to our country and their ongoing contributions to our team and customers.
