What type of vehicle does the Linxup plug-in device work in?
The Linxup OBD plug-in tracking device is easy to install on all automobiles and light and medium-duty trucks manufactured after 1996. The OBD plug-in device does not support electric vehicles.
The unit installs in the required OBDII port, usually located under the dashboard within two feet of the steering wheel. If you're unsure about your vehicle, please give us a call and we'll be happy to answer your question quickly.
The Linxup wired device can be installed on nearly any vehicle on the road. For heavy-duty trucks, we also offer a JBUS device.
How do I install the Linxup plug-in GPS tracking device?
Installing the Linxup plug-in device is as easy as plugging in a lamp. Insert it into the OBDII port under the dashboard, and you're ready to roll.
The Linxup wired device installation is not complicated. It involves splicing one wire to the constant power supply, attaching another wire to the vehicle's chassis to ground the unit, and splicing a third wire into the ignition wire.
Can I add a dash camera and install it myself?
Yes. Easy-to-follow video and written instructions are provided. Our LinxCam dash cameras come with mounting hardware and receive power from your vehicle's OBD port.
